(I do love history, so forgive me if I indulge a bit) 

The house is in Lewisburg, WV, which is located in the southeast corner of WV and steeped in history.  Declared an historic district, it was founded in 1782.  Many of the original buildings have been restored and are still in use today as cafes, quaint shops and restaurants.  The Seneca Trail runs through downtown Lewisburg and during the Revolution, George Washington was inspired to say “leave me but a banner to plant upon the mountains of West Augusta (this area) and I will gather around me the men who lift our bleeding country from the dust and set her free.”  During the Civil War, Confederate and Union solders battled lines here.  Today, the small town thrives with the historic Greenbrier Resort located 8 miles away and many festivals held throughout the year. 

As you walk the flower lined streets, you’ll see kids playing in the small city park and hear the steeple clock tolling the hour, the church bells ringing out on Sunday mornings and at night, candles in the windows.
